X,Y,Z axes adopt precision class ballscrews and linear scales (0.005mm resolution) on three axes. The PC based controller utilizes dialog program editor. With full color 14 inch CRT. Simple & clear touch panel, all digital EDM parameters, and 100 pages of files storage capacity. 10 steps auto-Z function, just input depth of Z-axis & current values and other machining data will be automatic preset. Special spark-out functions as DWELL in depth of Z-axis. Plus automatic Z-axis approach, manually center X,Y and home X,Y axes setting functions. New fuzzy logic for arcing control and fuzzy servo voltage control when the discharging is unsteady, EDM parameters will be adjusted by the controller. And electrode will be raised back & up and pulse-off when arcing. With digital readout functions and EDM safety devices such as : arcing depth setting, flame detector, dielectric temperature & level sensor detector, emergency stop & auto. Fire extinguisher, and polarity reverse switch to comply with safety requirement. New CIS machine color, newly designed power supply unit. Comply to relevant safety & harmonized standards as CEN/TC-143/WG5 N601995, EN292, EN60204. The quality system ISO 9002: 1994 has been approved by Amtri Veritas certificate no. 9AV1574-1 in 1998. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS DESCRIPTION OF KEYBOARD SHOW AS FIG.1 FUNCTION KEYS : F1 to F9 are designated to be function keys, and represent different functions on different pages. NUMERAL KEYS : For editing the data. DECIMAL POINTS : For inputting decimal data. SIGN KEYS :  + and  - represent the direction of moving. DIRECTION KEYS :  ! , ! , ! and ! are used to move the cursor. ENTER KEY :  entering the data and store in the memory. CONTROL KEYS : There are 8 different control keys.These keys can be set respectively;the explanation will be shown at the bottom of the screen. When a control key is being set, the character will be shown in high light. Pressing the same key again, will turn off the key. A: FAST JMP - To control the flushing speed of spindle of Z-axis. B: BUZZER - It will be sound when error has occurred. C: SLEEP - When it is set, all power source will be swiched off automatically whenever the machining cycle is completed. Otherwise the power source of discharge circuit will be off automatically and the power source of computer is still ON. G: OIL LEVEL - If the dieletric level is lower than the set level of machining tank, the power source of discharge circuit will be off. M: EQU - Uniform sparking function. N: SYNC FLUSH - When the key is set, the dielectric fluid flow is on. T: PULSED FLU - To control the pulsed fluid supply nozzle action when flushing. (Without function at moment) U: ARC ADJ - If arcing is present, machining conditions will be changed to suitable erosion.           FIG.1 MAIN PANEL NOTE : 1. The function keys will only be executed when the MAIN function screen appears. 2. When the computer is turned on, the FAST JMP, BUZZER, EQU, SYNC FLUSH are turned on as well, with the characters are in highlight status at the bottom of screen. QUIT : return to previous page of screen. OTHER KEYS : V, X, Y, Z are set. SCREEN SHUTOFF: For the purpose of extending the life of CRT, the system will be shutoff screen displayed during erosion sparking. Approximately 5 minutes after your last pressing keyboard, press Z key will be returned on machining codition displayed. If you like to check machining parameters. POWER : This botton is turn on machine power. A-PULSE : This meter indicated the average current of machining. V-GAP : This meter indicated the gap voltage of machining. Buzzer : It will be sound when error has occurred. Emergency stop : This is the emergency stop post button. DESCRIPTION OF REMOTE CONTROLLER AS FIG.2 DIS key : To start erosion sparking. Stop key : To stop erosion sparking. UP key : Z axis rapid travel at upward (z-direction). DN key : Z axis rapid travel at downward. S/C key : Short circuit protected & release key when electrode touch workpiece. That monitor display shows z-axis short circuit , press this S/C key & UP key for release short circuit. SLOW key : Z-axis up/down speed changing key. X1 = one pulse (0.005mm) speed, - slow speed. X5 = middle fast speed. X10 = fast speed. C+, C-, X+, X-, Y+, Y- : Those keys have no function on ZNC EDM.  FIG. 2 REMOTE CONTROLLER EXPLANATION OF 3 AXES COORDINATES DIRECTION  Z- Y- ELECTRODE X- X+ WORK PIECE In this machine, the 3 axes moving direction were designed that the machine spindle (the RAM, or shall we say the elctrode) as the mmoving object. Above shetch shows that: Please note following moving direction of each axis and refer to above sketch: Z axis: Electrode moving upward is the direction of Z-. Electrode moving downward is the direction of Z+. (So, when you editing a program to spark sownwad into workpiece, you have to give z axis a positive figure, i.e. z= +10mm meaning spark 10mm depth downward) X axis: Electrode moving to the right-hand side is the direction of x+. Electrode moving to the left-hand side is the direction of x-. Y axis: Electrode moving inward (to machine column) is the direction of y+. Electrode moving outward (from machine column) is the direction of y-. FLOW CHART OF FUNCTIONS    DISCHARGE EDITOR   FIG. 3 MAIN FUNCTIONS MAIN FUNCTION DETAILS AS FIG. 3 F1 : Z HOME - The machine electrode spindle shall be return to home point when press this F1 key for Z-axis. This function is to send Z-axis to its mechanical original point which value is preset in software disk. And absolute coordinates (ABS Z) return to zero. F2 : ZERO SET X - Relative coordinates of X-axis return to zero, i.e. setting the reference point of workpiece in X-axis. F3 : ZERO SET Y - Relative coordinates of Y-axis return to zero, i.e. setting the reference point of workpiece in Y-axis. F4 : ZERO SET Z - Relative coordinates of Z-axis return to zero, i.e. setting the reference point of workpiece in Z-axis. F5 : AUTO TOUCH Z - The computer eill help you to do the edge finding of workpiece. The electrode will move towards the workpiece in increments of 0.005mm. When short circuit occurs. It stops and relative coordinates of Z-axis return to zero. F6 : X / 2 - The center point on X-axis where between zero (setting by F2) and current ciirdinate. The figures is shown on screen. And it calculated by CPU system. F7 : Y / 2 - The center point on Y-axis where between zero (setting by F3) and current ciirdinate. F8 : EDITOR - To edit machining conditions & depth of Z-axis and data file management. F9 : DISCHARGE - To perform machining data as all the EDM parameters and depth of Z-axis have been set.  FIG. 4 EDITOR EDITOR FUNCTION AS FIG. 4 F1 : EDIT Z - To edit machining conditions and machining depth. Press F1, you can see the screen as fig.5. Input the value into the position where the cursor is flashing for all EDM parameters and depth of each step (CH). F2 : DATA END - Afer completely edit a sparking program, at last point shall be the end point (press F2) and given an E mark. This key to confirm (to computer) a program is completed, machine will then sparking to last step and stop. F3 : LOAD FILE - To retrieve the data saved in files. Press F3 to retrieve a file, and Please input file name (0 to 999) will appear on the screen. Then key in the number of the file you want. F4 : SAVE FILE - When we have completed editing of Z coordinates, the data Can be saved I the floppy disk in order to be used again. Press F4, and Please input file name (0-999) will appear on the screen. The file number (0-999) means any number from 0 to 999 can be used. However due to the space restriction of floppy disk, only 60 files can saved. An error message will appear when you try to save more than thirty files. Press F5 will delet file. F5 : DEL. FILE - To delete a previously saved file from program. F6 : FILE LIST - To display the file names on the screen. Press F7 to check all the file saved I the floppy disk. F7 : CURR. TABLE - The relationship between current output value to on-time Value, this table were pre-set by factory. Please refer to CURRENT TABLE page for explanation. F8 : AUTO Z SET - This is a automatical editing program function. After push This key, screen will display depth: & current: for Operator to key in total depth desired to spark and the Maximum starting sparking current. And computer will give operator a full program automatically. If operator wished to change some of parameters value which given from this function, then operator change the manual before sparking or after sparking. Q : QUIT - Please key in when the data input is completed. You May also edit any subroutine key in again to return to the previous screen. The current unit is in AMP. The on-time unit is in MICRO-SECOND (s). For example: - At 0 AMP, the on-time value is 6s. - At 6 AMP, the on-time value is 110s. - At 10 AMP, the on-time value is 150s. - At 23 AMP, the on-time value is 430s. - At 50 AMP, the on-time value is 700s. - At 55 AMP, the on-time value is 750s. - At 75 AMP, the on-time value is 950s.  FIG.5 EDIT Z EDIT Z FUNCTION AND CUTTING DATA DESCRIPTION AS FIG. 5 F1 : EDIT Z - To edit machining conditions and depth. Press F1, you can See the screen as fig.5. Input the value into the position where the cursor is flashing, and edit the number of the subroutine of spindle Z-axis. CH : Represent the sectional number for spindle Z-axis. There are 10 sections, from 0 to 9 which is input automatically by the computer. DEPTH : Represent the sectional depth value of Z-axis spindle travel. As the downward movement of Z-axis is positive ; it is not Necessary to input the sign of plus (+) and minus (-). The value is edited by the absolute coordinates system. The range of values is from +4000.000 to  4000.000 mm.  I  : Represnet the peak current value, the value from 0 to 75 AMP.  Ton  : Ton, repreesnets the pulse on time, ranging from 2 to 999 (s).  Toff  : Toff, represents duty cycle of pulse. It consists of steps from 1 to 9, the interval value of each step being 10%, and the maximum value is up to 90%. Gap : Represents the machining GAP voltage in between electrode and workpiece, the value is from 25 to 99 volts. Jmp : Represents the flushing length for spindle Z-axis. The sectional from 0 to 99, each unit is 0.1 mm, 0 means no flushing, and 99 means maximum flushing length of 9.9 mm. W-T : Represents the machining time of discharge, from 0 to 99, each unit being 0.1 second with the maximum value at 9.9 seconds. Pol : Represents the polarity of voltage in between electrode and workpiece. Value is from 0 to 1, 0 means the electrode is positive and the workpiece is negative ; 1 means the electrode is negative and workpiece is positive. H-V : Represents the highest voltage of bipulse circuit in between electrode and workpiece, ranging from 0 to 3, 0 means 100V, 1 means 150V, 2 means 200V, 3 means 250V. HOME : HOME = -1.000 represents the distance between electrode and the workpiece when machining is completed position. When the electrode is raised to HOME position 1 mm higher than workpiece surface, it will start movement. This figure must be a (-) negative number. DWELL : DWELL = 5 spark out function. When sparking to the preset depth (as fig.5 5mm) The machine will not stop sparking. Instead, it will lock up the Z-axis and continue to spark as SPARK-OUT FUNCTION for 5 minutes and then stop automatically. DWELL - spark out function is counting in minute i.e. 1 = one minute, 10 = ten minutes. Maximum value is 99 minutes. ARC POS : This is a safe switch, avoid worktank fire. In sparking condition, system can detect Z-deoth value five times when flushing occurs, if the depth value of Z-axis is always higher than set value of ARC position, sparking will stop and alarm, prevent spark touch air to get fire.  NOTE : When complete inputting data, please move the cursor to the last. STEP , and press F2 as the end point. Error message of Z-axis data error will appear. If you do not set end point. After that, key in to return previous screen.  FIG. 6 AUTO Z SET AUTO Z SET FUNCTION AS FIG. 6 F8: AUTO Z SET. Press F8 to show fig. 6 displayed - Just input the DEPTH of Z-axis & current values I and other machining data will be automatic preset. - Example here, depth key in 5 meaning total sparking depth is 5mm (or inch system in 1 inch). - Current key in 10 meaning the maximum start sparking current is 10 AMP. - The computer will then give A FULL SPARKING STEPS and EDM parameters (machining data) from rough to fine finished. * Please refer to next page for details. Note : - Please return & press F4: SAVE FILE for save programing. After finish set EDIT Z or AUTO Z SET. - Then return MAIN MANU and press F9: DISCHARGE to start spark erosion. - When ELECTRIC DISCHARGE, the CONDITION displayed as fig. 8. Than could use  !  ! up/down keys to adjust each parametners from key F1~F9.  FIG. 7 AUTO Z SET     FIG. 8 CONDITIONS (1)        FIG. 8 CONDITIONS (2) F9: CHANGE FUNC. It is to switch off the function key. A : TIME ZERO - Work time clear. B : PUMP - Pump on/off. C : ZERO Z - Z axis will be auto set to zero when spark starts. G : Z DOWN INC - This function is to increase down speed of Z-axis until spark occurs, then speed change to normal. M : Z DOWN DEC - This function is to decrease down speed of Z-axis, until spark occurs, then speed change to normal. DETAILS DESCRIPTION OF DISCHARGE & CONDITION After setting depth of Z-axis and all EDM parameters, then into discharge mode. To excute machining of mould. Pressing the function key can change the condition of machining. Refer fig.8 condition. DEPTH : 5.000m/m meaning total sparking depth of this program is 10mm. START Z : 0 meaning this program starting from CH 0 which is the first step. STOP Z : 66 meaning this program is ended at CH 6 which is the 7th (last) step. WORK Z : 0 meaning now is sparking CH 0 (first step). WORK DEP : 4.750m/m meaning the present working step (CH 0) is to spark down 4.750m/m in depth. 00:01:15 : Meaning total sparking time. Once push on DIS. The sparking time starting to accumulating total sparking time. You can ZERO it by pushing F9 key (TIME ZERO). F1 : CURRENT - To change the peak current value, the procedure is exactly the same as above. Setting value is from 0 to 75 AMP. F2 : ON TIME - To change pulse on time cycle, by use of the button with up & down keys to change the value. Press the key again when completed. Setting value is from 2 to 999 (S). F3 : OFF TIME - To change duty cycle of pulse, by use of the button with up & down keys to change the value. Press the key again when completed. Setting value is from 1 to 9(%). F4 : GAP VOLT - To change the voltage, the procedure is exactly same as above. Setting value is from 25 to 99 (V). F5 : jmp length - To change the finish length, the procedure is exactly same as above. Setting value is from 0 to 99 (mm). F6 : WORKING TIME - To change the machining time, the procedure is exactly same as above. Setting value is from 0 to 99 (%). F7 : POLARITY - To change the polarity ( positive or negative ), the procedure is exactly same as above. Setting value is from 0 to 1. F8 : HIGH VOLT - To change the high voltage of bipulse circuit, the procedure is exactly same as above. Setting value is from 0 to 3. F9 : CHANGE FUNC - This switch on/ off for more function key as: A: TIME ZERO B: PUMP C: ZERO Z G: Z DOWN INC M: Z DOWN DEC F3 : LOAD FILE Example here, press F3 load file is to loading (call out) previous program no.1 from file list for further use.  FIG. 9 LOAD FILE F4 : SAVE FILE Example here, press F4 save file is to save (memoried) program no. 1 into file list. Key in file number which you want to delete and then push ! key, and the file will be deleted from file list.  FIG. 11 DEL FILE F6 : FILE LIST Example here, press F6 file list. There are total 3 files (programs) in the file list and as 1.  FIG. 12 FILE LIST OPERATION ITEM: Please read this section carefully before operation. THE SEQUENCE OF OPERATION: When the power is on, please bring worktable to machine home position. Use handwheel set the origin point of workpiece at its center point. Select function of editing of all parameterrs. Save all the data in the files of floppy disk. Start machining. ELECTRICITY CUT OFF: Restart the power. Return the worktable to machine home for X, Y, Z axis. (Manual in X, Y axis) Retrieve all the data from the files of floppy disk. Start machining. NOTE : Above shall be operated in sequence to save unnecessary repetition in editing of data and of X & Y axes. The screen will show some error message when the system is in editing or discharge mode. Please re-set those data according to error message. Unwanted files should be deleted if you have reached 60 files. If worktable suddenly stops during manual movement, please check that it has not exceeded its maximum travel. This can be overcome by moving table away from limite block with the handlwheel function. The combination of machining discharge and fluid supply : Synchronous fluid supply is on : Dielectric fluid will follow when in during machining. Synchronous fluid supply is off : No dielectric fluid will stop? The key of S/C on the remote box is for the purpose of moving worktable when short circuit has occurs. Please use this key carefully. When the electrode JUMP off the short circuit status, release the S/C key immediately; otherwise, the electrode will be damaged. When the key is pressed, the system will not detect any short circuits and warning message appears on the screen. OPERATION PROCEDURE Release the emergency stop (call stop) switch. Turn ON machine power. Wait for screen to show first page display and push any to continue. At main menu, push F1 key to send Z axis to its mechanical origins (note, operator must do this for each & every sparking job before set-up a workpiece and align electrode. Algin your electrode and set-up your workpiece by using F2-F7 keys. Close the worktank door, and if you want to edit your sparking program now. Push F8 key (editor) to enter EDITOR page. In this editor page, you have 2 choices to editing your sparking program. By pushing F1 key (edit Z), you can enter into manual editing which you have to fill-in all sparking parameters value one by one manually as 1-17 application at next page. By push F8 key (auto Z set), you can enter into auto editing which in-built system will give operator full sparking parameters value (rough to fine) automatically, if operator key-in total sparking depth & maximum starting current output value. Note, all parameters values are changeable, just move cursor to the figure that your wish to change and key in new figure (or value) and push enter key. After editing a program, if you wish to memoried this program into file list for future use. You can strat to sparking now. (By push F9 key DISCHARGE at MAIN page) but if you wish to fill up worktank with dielectric fluid to a certain level, push N key so that pump motor can supply dielectric fluid immediately. After fluid level reach pre-set height and then push on F9 key at MAIN menu. During sparking, operator can change parameters value (except the depth) of presently sparking step (CH) on screen. See details on CONDITION page. Note: During sparking, if operator wished to incooperate ARC protection function, please push on U key (ARC ADJ). The ARC protection circuit will shut off sparking function whenever heavy ARC accumulating to a pre-set conditions. (ARC protection circuit were designed to get ride of ARC automatically when it happens, however, if arcing cannot be eliminate by the circuits and accumulating to a certain level and time, in order to protect workpiece & electrode, the circuits will shut off sparking automatically.
